Cell Phones and Law Enforcement

Right now the Wireless Association and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children have joined forces to rescue children that have been abducted. You can sign up to get free text messaging on the occasion that an Amber Alert is issued. You only need a wireless carrier that is participating I the program and a cell phone with text messaging. Approximately twenty- five carriers are participating in the program including Sprint, Cingular, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless. It is anticipated that there will be one million subscribers by the end of 2006!
